Another Meeting with Bonnie

By Christoph Krug

A few weeks ago a friend of mine called me to say that Bonnie will appear at the 41st
"Hessentag" at the "Pop Remember festival" in Dietzenbach together with "The Sweet",
"Suzi Quatro " and some others. First i could not believe it but it was true. Bonnie in
concert just around the corner - i was totally fascinated and excited too. The last
concert i saw of our beloved Bonnie was in Munich at the end of 1999. So it was plenty of
time to see the next one. At the same day i ran faster than the Speed of Night to the
next Ticket shop to buy a ticket for this event.

Short time before the concert took place i have read that the promoters of this festival
expected 9.000 people. Do i have the chance to see our Bonnie eye to eye at such a big
festival?? The chances were not very good. So what could i do?? I tried to organize a
backstage or photographers pass. You can imagine that it was not the easiest thing to do
that. But at the end it seemed that everything was working well. I had the promise by
Bonnies tour Manager Mr. Matt Davies to get a photographers pass and at the 18th of
May i went to Dietzenbach many hours before the show began. Because of the fact that
Bonnie would celebrate her 50th Birthday just three weeks after this event i made the
suggestion to the memebers of the Mailing list to give Bonnie a bunch of flowers. Many of
you agreed to do it so i bought a bunch of red Roses.

Arrived in Dietzenbach the roadies were still building up the very large stage. I was totally
surprised that i could easily go to the venue and i made some photos of the stage. The
promoters of Bonnies " Straight from the Heart tour" this year in Germany and Mr. Matt
Davies told me to pick up my photographers pass at the box office. You can imagine that
i was at the box office totally on time but nobody knew something about it. I started to
get nervous. I was waiting one and a half hours more and still nobody knew something.
Mr. Davies gave me a phone number where i should call when something goes wrong. I
phoned to this man but he just said he got other problems. !!!!!!!!! From this moment on i
was nervous. So i stood there with my red Roses, no chance to give Bonnie the flowers
and no chance to tell her how we all love her. I was a little bit disappointed and went back
to lay the roses into my car. On this way back passing the stage i thought i could eat
something. I was looking around for the next restaurant or something like that and while
i was looking i saw suddenly Robert. Just a few seconds later i saw our beloved Bonnie. I
was totally relieved. Then i said "Bonnie i got some flowers for you". Bonnie just turned
around smiled and walked to me. Bonnie looked perfect as always. I walked to her and i
said "It`s fantastic to see you again". We shaked hands and i told her my name and that i
am a member of the mailing list, that the we all love her and that the flowers are a little
bit too early birthday gift. Bonnie just smiled and said that she will take the flowers with
her home. After this i told her my little problem with the photographers pass. She
turned around to Mr. Matt Davies who was also there and pleased him to give me a pass.
The guy from the German tour promoter who i phoned earlier told me to pick up the pass
at the box office at four o`clock. Suddenly it was possible. After we have managed this
Bonnie gave me an autograph on a very new autograph card. Some other fans were there
too and after all of us had our autographs somebody made a photo of Bonnie, Robert and
me. Once again: I was totally relieved.

At 6 o`clock the concert began with "Racey" and at at half past ten Bonnie as the
headliner started. With a photographers pass i had the opportunity to go to the
backstage area and they let all the photographers to the area between the stage and the
crowd but not the whole time. Just for the first three songs. Short time before the gig
started Bonnie was walking to the stage and waved to us. I have met another Bonnie fan
from Frankfurt who knew all the Homepages but did not know anything about the Mailing
list. I think in the near future we have a new member. Approximately 10.000
enthusiastic fans wanted to see our Bonnie and she started with "Have you ever seen the
Rain". I wanted to write down the song list but doing this and making photos at one and
the same time is a little bit difficult. Bonnie performed nearly two hours and sang of
course all her hits. The encore was "Turtle Blues", "Holding out for a hero" and "The
Best". She dedicated "Total Eclipse of the heart" to her late mother. A very moving
moment. Bonnie introduced the Band and she said that she has a new keyboard player.

So this was, as always, a perfect show. I have made many many photos. You can see all
these photos on the Official Bonnie Tyler Homepage by Paul and Steve, and on Tatis and
Gordons Homepages in the near future.

Thank you Bonnie for this great great night. You know we`ll never go as long as we know
it`s coming straight from your heart. You never walk alone. See you in Nuerenberg at
 the 29th of June.

A special thanks to Mr. Stephen Heneghan and a very very special thanks to Paul and to
Mr. Matt Davies who made it all possible (Mr Davies i hope i made no inconveniences). For
me as a fan it`s always and it will be always something very special to meet Bonnie. I am
 just a fan.
